Mikayla earned an impressive 3.93/4.0 GPA, graduating Summa Cum Laude from Oregon State University with an Honors BioHealth track in Pre-Med and Chemistry and Master’s in Biochemistry & Biophysics in four years. As a student-athlete, she performed research on the anti-cancer properties of plant-based diets. Thereafter, conducting interviews and focus groups with healthcare staff, patients, and caregivers to determine how to best help patients increase their intake of protective plant-based foods. Additionally, she authored monthly online articles for the Oregonian, launched Selfless Servings 501c3 while raising ~$17,000 in response to COVID-19 for overburdened healthcare workers and local businesses, and served as Executive Coordinator for ReelTime Rentals, Inc.
She played a critical role on their women’s basketball team, while succeeding in track & field throughout the offseason. Mikayla helped Oregon State achieve NCAA March Madness Women’s Basketball Tournament Sweet 16 and Elite 8 runs.

Upon graduation, she was drafted by the Atlanta Dream as the 25th overall pick of the 2020 WNBA draft. Due to the league’s season being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, Mikayla signed a contract with Club Deportivo Promete in Spain. Her unrivaled work ethic and commitment has translated seamlessly into her current data analyst role. She contributes to machine learning models, various applications, model improvement, employee intake forms, medical authorization documents, billing, etc. at CorVel Corporation.

Shana brings a wealth of knowledge in investment management. With over two decades of industry experience, she is a highly sought-after media contributor and speaker. Her prior role involved serving as Director of Investments at Cope Corrales, leading the firm’s Alternative Investment Platform, sourcing, conducting due diligence and implementing private investments, private equity, venture and alternative deals. These ranged from illiquid, less-liquid and fully liquid assets. As Chief Investment Officer at Spotlight Asset Group, Shana was responsible for managing the firm’s $450 Million portfolio, including leading the Spotlight Investment Committee, assisting in the management of the firm’s proprietary Buy-Write portfolio, and developing a comprehensive Alternative Investment solution for firm clients. Shana also brings a vast background in market research and analysis through various roles held at Orion Advisor Solutions, Ariel Investments, Fidelity Investments, Mercer Investments, Peak Financial Management, and Russell Investments.

Sanjeev was the Senior Global Business Development & Strategic Alliances Manager at Dechra Pharmaceuticals PLC. Prior to Dechra, he worked at Elanco in various roles of increased responsibilities, including serving teams in Technology Acquisitions, External Innovation, Alliance Management, In/Out Licensing in multiple therapeutics areas including but not limited to vaccines, endocrinology, neurology, dermatology, and infectious diseases.
Sanjeev received a Ph.D. in Virology and Molecular Biology from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. He also holds a master’s in veterinary science from Gujarat Agricultural University and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Himachal Pradash Agricultural University, both in India. Ashok is the Chief Researcher and Chairman for the International Clean Water Institute in Virginia, totaling 18 years as an educator, including 5 years as Director of Nanomaterials Processing and Characterization Lab, and over 6 years as Director of Research for the Advanced Sciences Convergence Institute and Executive Director and VP for Research at the International Clean Water Institute. In addition, he served as visiting professor at the 3 Nano-SAE Research Centre, University of Bucharest in Romania, and visiting scientist at the Helen and Martin Kimmel Center of Nanoscale Science at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. He strives for innovations by addressing global challenges of the 21st century such as: safety, security, sustainability, and resilience utilizing advanced technological solution-ready platforms. Ashok is a distinguished scholar, receiving his PhD from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg followed by the Kobe postdoctoral fellowship. Shortly after his PhD, he served as professor and researcher at Virginia Tech and Marshall University.
Ashok worked for 9 years within the US government’s S&T administration, serving the U.S. Department of State in two rotations. His primary focuses involved counterterrorism, countermeasures, and security for water, e-m and cybersecurity. Dr. Vaseashta was fortunate to serve as Director of several NATO Advanced Study Institutes and workshops for nearly 15 years.
His fundamental research on nanotechnology has consisted of improving the understanding, design, and performance of nanofibers and sensors/detectors. Primarily for applications such as targeted drug deliveries, wearable electronics, biomarker detection, and toxicity of nano/xenobiotic materials. For security, he has worked on biosecurity, counterterrorism, countering unconventional warfare/hybrid threats, critical-Infrastructure protection, dual-use research concerns, and hybrid threat mitigation such as misinformation.

Ashok was able to secure over $15M in grants/contracts, in conjunction with organizing several NATO advanced research activities with international partners. He is a fellow of the American Physical Society, Institute of Nanotechnology, and the New York Academy of Sciences, while earning several other awards and fellowships which include the 2004/2005 Distinguished Artist and Scholar award. Having over 270 research publications and 9 books on nanotechnology and the environment, we are beyond excited to welcome him to our team.
